I have to go to my daughter’s recital.
I have to work late.
I have to cut the grass.
I have to go to Mass.
I have to do date night with the wife.
I have to run errands.
I heard someone the other day say a great way to instill more gratitude in your life is to turn “have to’s” into “get to’s”.
How much different would our outlook be if we said instead...
I get to go to my daughter’s recital.
I get to work late.
I get to cut the grass.
I get to go to Mass.
I get to do date night with the wife.
I get to run errands.
Our time on this earth is fleeting. Let’s be grateful for the time that we have and for the amazing things we “get to” do today.
“The secret of happiness is to live moment by moment and to thank God for what He is sending us every day in His goodness."
-St. Gianna Boretta Molla
