Find your passion.
Find your truth.
Do what makes you happy.
These are the mantras of our time.
... and they are a load of crap.
Why you ask?
The key word in all three are YOU. Therein lies the problem.
If there's one thing I know for sure (but too often forget), it's that the more I focus on ME, the less I'm of service to God and others.
And that's what this whole thing is about, right?
I think Matthew 22:36-40 is pretty clear about that...
36 “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"
37 He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the greatest and the first commandment.
39 The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
In other words...
10-4, God. Got it.
"What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like."
-St. Augustine of Hippo
